Nikolai Kemeny brings the art of Tap Dance to Musical Theater & Operetta on some of the most prestigious stages. Recently, he performed at Deutsche Oper am Rhein in Ein Märchen im Grand-Hotel, where his percussive style contributed to the operetta’s fusion of jazz, glamour, and romance. At Staatsoperette Dresden, he was part of 100 Passions, a powerful statement on human resilience through contemporary Tap Dance with the Sebastian Weber Dance Company. Nikolai delivers excellently in any setting with charm, musical elegance, dynamic movement, and athleticism.
COSMIC TAP is an improvised dance piece featuring tap dance and live music. The athletic dancers Andrea Alvergue and Nikolai Kemeny gracefully transform percussive dance into a visual art form. Musicians Dorit Schäffler on Clarinets and Markus Stockhausen on Trumpet and Flugelhorn defy genre conventions, using intuitive play to engage directly with the dancers.
Every moment of COSMIC TAP is a creation of the present. Dancers and musicians interact with the space, the audience, and each other, forging an intimate, ephemeral, and profoundly moving performance.
